Hello dear friends and readers!
Christmas has come and gone and while I am still recovering from a nasty case of the flu over the holidays, I have not just been sitting on my laurels. I have been busy behind the scenes working on getting copies of Albert the Donkey Meets a New Friend into your hands! The book is now fully available on Amazon (it no longer says out of stock!), Barnes & Nobles and Walmart. I am so pleased to share this adorable character with all of you–even if you don’t have littles at home! Albert is beautifully illustrated and just a feel good read for any age!
I have also been working on marketing during this time, and I wanted to clarify that you may see different social media accounts out there for me–@lauraballauthor and now at @lauraballbooks. I have been working on marketing with my publisher and the new accounts (@lauraballbooks) were created to help differentiate the cozy mysteries side with the kids books side. But they are all official accounts for me and will be updated with news and updates as they arise. However, the @lauraballauthor accounts will be my main accounts for the most information regarding my writing. And as always, check here for any updates on the blog!
In addition to the new social accounts, I have been working on events for 2024. I would love to be able to be accessible to my fans and sign copies and do meet and greets with all of you in the new year! I will be at the Stark County Library Local Author Fair on March 16, 2024. I will have copies of my two cozy mysteries and the kids book available for purchase. I will also have generic little stuffed donkeys and packs of crayons to go with the Albert books as special gifts. Please note that I am still working on real plushies of Albert that will be trademarked but these available donkeys are just mini generic donkeys I have found for the time being. I may also have a custom crocheted Albert available for raffle at one of my events so stay tuned for more information on that!
I have ordered a large quantity of Albert books to stock the various local bookstores I am at for those of you that are local. Those copies should be available in the next couple weeks so be on the lookout for that! As always, I will let you know when those are immediately available. I am hoping to do some small events at these vendors if possible in 2024 as well so more meet and greets may be coming up!
I am hard at work on Albert the Donkey Finds a Treasure which is book two in the series. As I mentioned in a previous blog post, it is currently in the illustration process with my publisher (shoutout to Daisyblue Publishing!) and I *hope* it’ll be ready in time for all your Easter basket needs! I am so excited about this series that I’ve even completed and started editing book three–Albert the Donkey Solves a Mystery! I hope to release that by Summer 2024!
