Hello, friends and readers! BIG THINGS are happening, and I am excited to share them with you! First, the website is continuing to undergo work as I have time. It now has an updated Albert page with where you can purchase the first book. Amazon now has the book available and in stock. This might be the easiest and quickest place to get a copy if you’re not local — I have copies arriving on Wednesday this week and this weekend I will be dropping off copies to the local bookstores I am in.
Second, the website is now equipped with a newsletter signup so you can stay up to date on all things Albert, me, my writing, giveaways, appearances, and more! Never miss an update with the monthly newsletter! The newsletter and social media are the best ways to learn about 2024 appearances I’ll be making!
Speaking of, and lastly, the website now has an Event page where my appearances will be listed. I am working on so many things but there are confirmed ones listed. More will be coming so be sure to check back and often for additional events. I am always open to appearances and guest readings. Book two in the series – Albert the Donkey Finds a Treasure – is coming along in illustrations nicely. So, far we are on track for an Easter release date. It does take some time for Amazon to update their inventory of the book since I publish this series through IngramSpark so I’m hoping to have time to factor that in with my timeline since I know most people prefer to order from there. (Who doesn’t love the free 2-day shipping, right?)
I have moved forward with the plushie idea and ordered a sample donkey! If I like the quality and construction, I will place a bulk order for Alberts and maybe even some Eddies. It takes quite some time for the sample, naturally, but I can’t wait to share it with you all once it arrives. I would make the bulk order Alberts available for sale on the website and perhaps on Amazon. Perhaps a boxed set of a plushie and a donkey could be an idea. I’m brainstorming and the ideas are flowing in, and it’s all so exciting!
I started my writing journey as a cozy mystery writer. With two full books under my belt and a third in the review process, I feel I have accomplished not only what I set out to do but more than I could have ever imagined. When I quite randomly came up with the Albert the Donkey idea, I had never in my wildest dreams thought about writing a kids picture book. But now that Albert has come to life, and I’ve received such amazing feedback, I feel that I may have found my niche. I have other cozy ideas and even a new series I’ve been outlining but I really feel that the Albert the Donkey series could be where my heart really lies. The idea of reading to kids, making them laugh and smile with my story, and seeing the excitement on their faces fills me with joy.
